Vacation property

Kristen and I are always on the lookout for a cool little getaway sorta place. Man, is she gonna love this site.

Bulgarianrealestate.net

The search parameters are the best. (in a vacation place, with a toilet)

So far this one has me digging in my pockets and counting my nickels (I just want the toilet seat)

"They sure work hard..."

"I hate to see em work so hard...Let's go around back where we can't see em."

Theo Jansen (is my hero for the day)

look at this

Then go and explore here to learn more. Strandbeest.com

you can even click on webcam and watch Theo read his email (even that's genius)

This is basically how it works

It is a sculpture built using algorithms and precise math which when mixed with nature and brought to life it goes wherever it wants. Beautiful.

The first million digits of PI. (Daniel Tammet is my hero for the day)

yep. here they are.

Look at those, then come and meet this guy who recited the first 22,514 of those digits, from memory, in a little over 5 hours.

yep. here he is.

Deer Tick. (I think you'll like it too.)

Deer Tick.
I don't like writing about music. I would just assume slide an illegally burned copy of something you've never heard of into your pocket and tell you I like it. Listen to these and call me tomorrow.

Deer Tick 'Ashamed'

Deer Tick 'Dirty Dishes'

So good. These are different versions than the one's on the soon to be blowing up all over the place record. (punctuation isn't really my thing either)

Learn more here Deer Tick. I love a slow loading band photo.

Swedes are crazy. (Their muppet characters have human hands.)

Sometimes I'll find a site that just looks great and that's enough. Sometimes it is so rich with bizarro content that I can't really deal with it all at once and I have to go back again and again, totally unsure if it is what it is. Unfortunately I'll never know because my Swedish skills are about as useful as muppet hands on a human body.

Try to understand

For even more confusion find the 'less swedish' button at the upper left.
Man, stripes is great.

The Train to Venice

I shot this on the train to Venice in late 2005. I taped my headphones to the video camera's microphone, I put a second pair of headphones into the headphone jack on my camera so that I was able to shoot and listen at the same time. (i'm a super genius/idiotdork). I overdubbed it here but the timing of the song is the same. If nothing else it's just a good excuse to hear a great song. "Some Kinda Fatigue" by Yo La Tengo.
