Seriously, it's the best thing ever. I can stand under it. UNDER IT. I love it. Sorry to get so excited about a showerhead. Go to the Home Depot and get this thing. I know it looks like a medium sized UFO and it's made out of plastic, just pretend you're European and everything will be okay.

COCKAPOO?
People! Stop making your big dogs sleep with your little dogs just so that you can make different dogs! I know that's not how it works, but at some point that's exactly how it worked! There are so many great dogs and breeds to choose from, stop it! It might be worth it if the end result didn't look like this. You should be ashamed. She is.

I don't like writing about music. I would just assume slide an illegally burned copy of something you've never heard of into your pocket and tell you I like it. Listen to these and call me tomorrow.
Deer Tick 'Ashamed'
Deer Tick 'Dirty Dishes'
So good. These are different versions than the one's on the soon to be blowing up all over the place record. (punctuation isn't really my thing either)
Learn more here Deer Tick. I love a slow loading band photo.

Swedes are crazy. (Their muppet characters have human hands.)
Sometimes I'll find a site that just looks great and that's enough. Sometimes it is so rich with bizarro content that I can't really deal with it all at once and I have to go back again and again, totally unsure if it is what it is. Unfortunately I'll never know because my Swedish skills are about as useful as muppet hands on a human body.
Try to understand
For even more confusion find the 'less swedish' button at the upper left.

The Train to Venice
I shot this on the train to Venice in late 2005. I taped my headphones to the video camera's microphone, I put a second pair of headphones into the headphone jack on my camera so that I was able to shoot and listen at the same time. (i'm a super genius/idiotdork). I overdubbed it here but the timing of the song is the same. If nothing else it's just a good excuse to hear a great song. "Some Kinda Fatigue" by Yo La Tengo.

While your there, hang out, poke around a bit, it's a beautiful web site filled with some great things. But when your done, come back.
Mr. Bridges also maintains/maintained one of the coolest personal websites around, just try and ignore the Michael McDonald images that jump up here and there.

Six For Sunday (3 times better than a Two for Tuesday)
I realize I've been lazy. I know I haven't posted much music lately. (I was trying to learn the technological side of it) I promise to be better about it. I've been off in the nether regions of the internet collecting songs and albums. I'm back now and prepared to share. As in, these were hard to find. Enjoy.
This first song is an American Analog Set song from their final release...I believe it was a tour only 4 song EP entitled 'Everything Ends in Spring'. This song is basically an extended (and much improved) version of a song which appeared on Set Free.
American Analog Set 'Cool Kids Keep'
Before the Shins, there was Flake (Music). Grittier, grainier, Lo-Fi-ier. This song appeared on a 7" entitled Sue Defender.
Flake Music 'Kreflo'
In the early nineties Devo released two albums worth of four track demos and previously unreleased stuff (Hardcore Devo I and II). This appears on volume I and makes me want to take a can opener, build a robot and fly him back to 1977 so that I can bloody my thumbs at the arcade while I blare my walkman and wear my rainbow suspenders.
Devo 'Auto Modown'
M. Ward makes some of the best music this side of anywhere. I hadn't ever heard this. It's from an EP entitled 'Scene From #12', which was released in 2002. They stopped making this for some reason.
M. Ward 'Wild Minds'
Sometimes B-sides should be A-sides and some A-sides should be no sides. This is a B-side from The National's 'Boxer' sessions. I didn't mean for that to read so negatively. I just like the song. I don't like typing. I do like writing. Pickle.
The National 'Santa Clara'
Beck don't need no fog machine/disco ball/glittery pants/feather boa/128 track recording/zillion dollar haircut. This is from Beck's first cassette 'The Banjo Story' (it was a gift for his mother, goes the legend). It was 1988, he was eighteen, and as far as I'm concerned he had everything he needed.

Rodney Mullen (was my hero for the day)
All skate videos should look like this. Like they've been watched a thousand times. Pause, rewind, pause, rewind, fast forward, pause, rewind, pause, rewind. Crappy tracking. Fisheye lenses. Classic rock. And full of Rodney. He's not going to catch crazy air or skate the wheels off the board, but man I wish I could skate flat ground like this.

Vincent Moon (is my hero for the day)
Vincent is a French filmmaker. I was always taught that film is film and video is not. His videos are films. He convinces bands to play songs in somewhat strange settings and he records them. His work all shares the same visual tone and style, it is neither saturated nor washed out, but seemingly both. He and the camera become part of the surrounds and it feels as though you have stumbled across your favorite band playing your favorite song behind a laundrymat or in the corner of the bar in the middle of Paris. Surreal and believable. Impossibly possible.
The Arcade Fire sing Neon Bible and Wake Up
The National sing Gospel
The French weblog is called La Blogotheque (if you speak french)
I prefer going to TakeAwayShows (because I speak English)
Be sure to sign up and get fed a weekly session.

Lo-fi is the new Hi-fi (link to RSS feed 101)
This is our friend Lee explaining RSS feeds, it's a video that he and his wife made to try and explain RSS. I think it started as just something to post on their own blog, but soon was being linked to from all over. People overdubbed it in several languges, and now they are a sort of mini sensation on the dubyadubyadubya...and to think i just thought he was just a beer drinkin, scallop cookin guy...

Bob Dylan VISIONS OF JOHANNA (1966-05-16 Sheffield, England Gaumont Theatre)
It's a slower version, almost as though he's trying to explain it, I appreciate his effort. Best song ever written. (possibly)
